Meaning I walk one and my BF walks the other, far enough away from each other so they can't actually touch but still get the exposure to each other. I thought that this in theory is a good idea. Let's say we do this a lot and it becomes routine then one day an accident happens and someone gets loose together, maybe they wouldn't be so inclined to fight right off the bat because they have been walked together so much?

Ok so give me some inexpensive ideas for strong harnesses. Smile

I do not like harnesses. I like the gentle lead or something like that. With a choke chain as a back up!!

noooooo noooooo gentle leader...nooooooooooo they can do damage to their necks, and slip out of them.. .... if you are going to use anything, use a prong collar ... not choke and gentle leaders....noooooooooooooo (falling down crying )....
what you do is this, start out both on either a walking leather harness or prong collars, be relaxed, as the dogs can feel the tension inthe leash.. have LOTS of good treats, something they dont get ... just start walking a nice distance away, go to a park or parking lot or large area... walk casual, and treat the dogs for behaving.. keep walking and talking to each other, and treating as long as the dogs are not growling or barking or lunging.. slowly move closer together.. but dont push it.. keep doing it gradually and you will be able to walk them side by side as long as their DA is not that bad...
